Emerging Europe and the Global Sourcing Association host the Belarus: Outsourcing Excellency On the EU’s Doorstep networking seminar
Through the Emerging Europe Outlook on Belarus, Emerging Europe has been discussing extensively the investment and trade environment in Belarus.
Following the EBRD-Emerging Europe Outlook on Belarus conference, co-hosted by Emerging Europe and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in October, we put the spotlight on the IT and outsourcing sector in a networking seminar organised with the Global Sourcing Association (GSA) in London, on November 30, 2016.
The event brought together Europe’s leading authorities in outsourcing, buyers of outsourcing services, influencers, opinion leaders and a dozen IT outsourcing companies from Belarus.
An economic outlook on Belarus was delivered by Alexander Pivovarsky, Country Manager for Belarus at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who spoke to our audience directly from Minsk via videoconference.
Further on we discussed what Belarus has to offer when it comes to outsourcing services, what buyers are looking for and how the country’s institutions and businesses can communicate their offer to foreign markets more effectively.
Speakers and panellists included:
Julian Burns, Belarus ICT Senior Banker, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Kerry Hallard, President, Global Sourcing Association
Elias van Herwaarden, EMEA Service Leader Global Location Services, Deloitte
Alexander Martinkevich, Deputy Director, Hi-Tech Park Belarus
Alexander Pivovarsky, Country Manager for Belarus, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
The panel discussion was followed by a networking cocktail reception, during which participants discussed potential cooperation and made valuable connections. Amongst the registered participants were representatives of Amazon, Cloud Employee, Deloitte, EBRD, Hi-Tech Park Belarus, Pinsent Masons, London School of Economics, Professional Outsourcing Magazine and the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
All participants received a pack which included profiles of the participating companies and a hard copy of the Emerging Europe Outlook on Belarus special report magazine, the largest coverage of business opportunities in Belarus ever done by an international media outlet.
