Emerging Europe is setting up the Emerging Europe Council
The Emerging Europe Council is a new independent advisory body to Emerging Europe’s board of directors. Its Honorary Members include leading opinion formers, senior business executives, scholars, former senior representatives of international organisations, civil society and the world of diplomacy.
“At Emerging Europe, our mission is to contribute to the social, economic and democratic growth of 23 countries and we have long enjoyed the support of a number of luminaries, former political and business leaders, artists, activists, media representatives,” says Andrew Wrobel, Partner, Content & Strategy at Emerging Europe. “We have now created a formal body that will help us drive this growth forward and identify new ways of helping the region grow.”
The Council meets once a year — in June, at the Emerging Europe Awards — to discuss emerging Europe’s strategic issues and their implications for the work and future development of the organisation. The Members also nominate and choose the laureates of the Günter Verheugen Lifetime Achievement Award and Lifetime Achievement Award for the Region, for individuals from inside and outside the region who have contributed to the social, economic and democratic development of the 23 emerging Europe countries.
The full list of Emerging Europe Council members will be announced in January 2019.
