Serbia’s Soko Stark opens new R&D lab

Serbian confectionery and snacks producer Soko Stark has opened a new, fully automatised research and development laboratory.

According to the local press, the company also announced that it had fully automatised the plant producing Smoki, its famous salty snack, with the modernised plant now having new packaging machines and robots making shipping boxes. The new investment is worth two million euros.

“The idea was to streamline some processes, reduce the share of manual labour, increase the safety and control of ready-made products. In addition, we have, at the same time, changed the way secondary packaging is done by introducing display boxes and changed the visual appearance of the Smoki bag,” said Soko Stark COO Dusko Brkovic.
