From the Web Summit stage in Lisbon, Ukraineβs Vice Minister of Digital Transformation Alex Bornyakov, this week announced the launch of CodeUA, a national marketplace for Ukrainian tech companies.
The platform is set to revolutionise how the world collaborates with Ukraine’s thriving IT sector, renowned for its expertise and commitment to excellence.
Despite the considerable challenges posed by ongoing war and a global recession, Ukraine’s tech industry is giving high hopes for the nation’s economy and defence capabilities. With approximately 5,000 companies and over 300,000 skilled professionals, the Ukrainian tech sector is a vital driver of the European tech market.
Ukrainian IT companies partner with many Fortune 500 giants including Amazon, Apple, IBM, Cisco, Google, and Nvidia, embedding their code in numerous products used by billions of people worldwide.
Notable collaborations include the development of the MBUX infotainment system for Mercedes vehicles by the Ukrainian automotive division of DXC Luxoft. Another Ukrainian company SoftServe is recognized as a reliable AI consulting authority for NVIDIA helping to build artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications to solve complex business challenges and accelerate digital transformation.Β

In 2023, the Ukrainian IT industry contributed 12.7 billion US dollars to the national economy, reinforcing its critical role in the country’s future.
The CodeUA platform was created through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Lviv IT Cluster, with the support of the USAID Competitive Economy Programme in Ukraine (USAID CEP).
