The Northern-Eastern Europe Free and Special Economic Zones Congress was held on March 19-20 in the Belarusian city of Gomel and was organised by the Free Economic Zone Gomel-Raton and the Gomel Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Switzerland-based Worldwide Free and Special Economic Zones Federation (FEMOZA).
The theme of the Congress was business globalisation and foreign direct investment — new investment corridor. Emerging Europe was a media partner of the event and the portal’s head of content moderated a panel devoted to the prospects for the logistics sector in the region.
According to the organisers the congress was attended by over 250 delegates — representatives of other free economic zones, businessmen interested in doing business in a free economic zone, government representatives of all levels, heads of chambers of commerce, etc. from 26 countries including the United Kingdom, USA, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Finland, Latvia, Serbia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia and others.
