Hungarian protests against ‘slavery law’ continue

Demonstrators took to the streets of the Hungarian capital Budapest for a fourth consecutive day on December 15. They are protesting new legislation dubbed the slavery law, which allows employers to ask staff to work up to 400 extra hours per year of overtime, instead of the current 250.

On the steps of the country’s parliament, hundreds of police officers in riot gear blocked the building’s entrance as demonstrators assembled before them, waving flags and colored smoke flares while chanting “Orban go to hell” and “We have had enough.”
