Companies from Belarus and Turkey have signed contracts worth 325 million US dollars during a business forum in Ankara.
The contracts are aimed at boosting bilateral trade relations in key areas such as petrochemicals, metallurgy and mechanical engineering.
“This is a considerable contribution to our trade and exports. The total amount of the signed contracts reaches 325.67 million [US dollars]. Our export deliveries will make up 318 million [US dollars]. The major suppliers will be the Belarusian petrochemical sector,” said Vladimir Ulakhovich, chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce.
The contract with the highest net worth was signed by Belarusian oil refinery Naftan, which will export acrylonitrile for artificial fibre production worth 200 million US dollars to Turkish businesses over the next six years.
Among the main contractors are further petrochemical companies including Grodno Azot, Mogilevkhimvolokno and Polotsk-Steklovolokno. In addition, a strategic agreement was signed between agricultural automotive holding MTZ and the Turkish Ganja Auto Plant.
