Emerging Europe to discuss economic freedom across the region at 4pm CET on March 9, 2021

On March 4, the Heritage Foundation published its annual Index of Economic Freedom. In the emerging Europe region, Estonia and Georgia continue to lead the way. Most countries are ‘mostly free’ or ‘moderately free’, except Ukraine, which is the region’s lowest ranked country.

Emerging Europe has invited
• Anthony Kim, Research Manager and Editor of the Index of Economic Freedom, Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy, Heritage Foundation
• Marek Dietl, CEO, Warsaw Stock Exchange and an economist
to discuss the findings and trends.

“The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on businesses over the past twelve months and it is clear that as the world continues to recover from this challenging situation, economic freedom will be more important than ever. We want to contribute to that recovery by shedding light on those aspects of economic freedom that can be improved relatively quickly, and thus help the emerging European economies grow,” says Andrew Wrobel, Founding Partner at Emerging Europe, who will chair the session.

Emerging Europe invites government representatives, business leaders as well as journalists to participate in the session and ask questions, both before and during the session.
