Bulgaria’s unemployment rate dropped to record low of 4.2 per cent in the second quarter of 2019, down from 5.5 per cent in the comparable period of last year, the country’s National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on August 14.
The total number of unemployed people in the Balkan country is now 142,000.
The unemployment rate amongst young people (aged under 29) saw a significant drop of 2.4 per cent to 6.9 per cent. Of Bulgarians with a university degree, less than two per cent are now unemployed.
