Chinese construction company Norinco is investing 160 million euros in a 156 MW wind farm in Croatia.
“I believe that the experience of Norinco in Croatia will be an incentive for other Chinese companies to get to know our market better,” said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic when announcing the deal.
The wind farm, located in Senj, in the north of the country, will have 39 turbines and will create at least 100 jobs, with several Croatian subcontractors set to be used to carry out part of the project.
“Norinco International has recorded a large number of successful projects in the field of energy and environmental protection both in China and abroad,” added the Mayor of Senj Sanjin Rukavina. “This is an opportunity for Senj to build on the renewable projects we have already begun, such as the wind farm at Vjetroelektrana Vrataruša.”
