According to a flash estimate from the statistical office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS), the country’s GDP growth slowed to 2.3 per cent during the first quarter of 2019.
“The official calculation of quarterly GDP for the first quarter of 2019, which is more detailed and compiled at lower levels of aggregation by deflation method, will be published on May 31,” RZS said in a statement.
Serbia’s real gross domestic product has been continuously decreasing over the last three quarters. Year-on-year GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2018 added up to 3.4 per cent, down from 3.8 per cent during the third quarter of 2018.
The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) has forecast full-year growth for 2019 to be 3.4 per cent in 2019, and 2.8 per cent in 2020.
