According to Serbian pollster Strategic Marketing, the opposition movement Alliance for Serbia (SzS) has lost a part of its support, and is currently polling at 9.8 per cent.
The decreased support comes after leaders of the opposition alliance attempted to enter the building of the Belgrade City Assembly by force, but were prevented to do so by police on April 4.
Serbia’s ruling SNS party, which backs under-fire president Aleksandar Vučić, has been accused of corruption and silencing the press, and has faced mass protests over the past few months, remains the leading political party with 53.9 per cent of voters supporting them. Other parties in the governing coalition would receive 12.2 per cent of the vote.
Another opposition party, PSG, currently polls at 6.2 per cent, having lost more than nine per cent of its supporters in a month. All other opposition forces poll below the five per cent threshold needed to enter parliament.
Serbia is expected to hold a snap election early in the summer.
