Serbia’s public debt increases to 50.9 per cent

Serbia’s ministry of finance has announced that the country’s state debt had reached 23.4 billion euros by the end of March, 50.9 per cent of the country’s GDP.

The finance ministry’s announcement shows a 0.5 per cent increase in the country’s state debt compared to the end of February when the indicator stood at 23.15 billion euros, or 50.4 per cent of annual GDP.

Viewing data from the fourth quarter of the last two years, Serbia’s public debt amounted to 23.01 billion euros, or 53.8 per cent of the GDP in 2018, while it was 23.22 billion euros (57.9 per cent in a debt-to-GDP ratio) in 2017.
