Sergei Aleinik is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as Belarusian Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland and the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta with concurrent accreditation. He was awarded the Grand Cross pro Merito Melitensi of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Previously, he was Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Office and other International Organisations in Geneva. He is a graduate of German and English from the Minsk State Pedagogic Institute of Foreign Languages and the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna.
