About the Leaders’ Meeting & Awards

The Emerging Europe Leaders’ Meeting & Awards is an initiative to showcase the best of the emerging Europe region and to promote the values of vision, empowerment and leadership.

Building on Emerging Europe‘s mission of supporting the economic and social growth of the region, we are organising the Emerging Europe Leaders’ Meeting & Awards — a high-profile programme to acknowledge those who consistently work towards and contribute most to its growth.

The Awards categories take into account the following key elements: Raising Awareness, Social Development and Economic Growth. There are also awards for individuals who have contributed to the development of the region.

There are 17 awards categories in total, of which 13 are chosen by a jury, two are chosen by the Emerging Europe Council and two are chosen using Emerging Europe’s research.

The Emerging Europe Leaders’ Meeting & Awards is a conference and presentation ceremony at the headquarters of the EBRD in London on June 28, 2019, preceded by a cocktail reception at the Houses of Parliament/Palace of Westminster on the evening of June 27.

The first edition of the Emerging Europe Leaders’ Meeting & Awards attracted almost 600 applicants, made over four million social media impressions and was attended by more than 350 participants. Each winner received a trophy representing the 23 countries, specially designed by two Hungarian arts students.

  • I am very glad to receive such a prestigious award. We are proud that Solaris is a brand enjoying global recognition and appreciation. The Global Champion of the Year award is a wonderful confirmation of that fact, placing us in the elite group of top enterprises that won in 2018, including giants like Amazon and Siemens.

PwC is not only continuing to stay involved for the 2019 edition but expanding the scope of our participation - and I strongly encourage leading organisations to get involved."

  • This is my first lifetime achievement award and I have very mixed feelings. So let’s call it an award for lifetime achievement so far. I will continue to work, and while and I’m not in a position to make decisions anymore, a couple of weeks ago I became aware that there is now a new position, called influencer. I see myself as an influencer for the future of Europe.
