Chinese automotive supplier MINTH Automotive Europe has begun construction of a car parts factory in Loznica, western Serbia. The investment is worth 100 million euros.
The factory will manufacture aluminium roof base carriers, vehicle covers, aluminium door frames and car batteries and create 1,000 jobs in the Loznica area.
“For the first time, we are bringing investors to build a new future for Loznica,” said Serbian president Aleksander Vučić, pointing to the importance of MINTH’s presence in western Serbia.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction site on April 3, the president emphasised his hope that Volkswagen, which is currently looking at a number of potential sites for a major investment in the region, will be attracted by the a growing number of car parts suppliers in the country.
