Polish discount apparel and household products retailer Pepco will open a logistic centre in Gyál, near Budapest, in an 85 million-euro investment. During the first phase, 400 jobs will be created, and the centre is expected to employ 1,200 people by the end of 2021.
The new distribution centre will service 140 Pepco stores in Hungary, as well as more than 500 stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Robin Taylor, managing director of Pepkor Hungary, Pepcoʼs Hungarian unit, said that the investment would help with the companyʼs increasingly fast expansion, adding that the location was picked for its geographical position and advanced infrastructure.
