Central and Eastern Europe’s largest low-cost carrier Wizz Air is to expand its newest base in Kraków, Poland, adding a third aircraft and launching six new routes.
The airline will allocate a second Airbus A321 aircraft to its Kraków base on August 1, one and a half months ahead of originally planned, while a third A321 aircraft will join the fleet in September 2019.
Wizz had already announced 12 new routes from Kraków, starting from April 2019. It will now add another six new routes to Turin, Rome-Fiumicino, Tel Aviv, Eindhoven, Birmingham and Keflavík.
“We are very much looking forward to 2019 as we are entering the Krakow market and rapidly developing our local presence and route network, as well as steadily expanding our Polish operations which now offers 169 low-cost routes to 28 countries,” said Stephen Jones, Wizz Air’s executive vice president and deputy chief executive.
Wizz Air now has five bases in Poland, at Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Warsaw and Wrocław.
