The Emerging Europe Alliance for Business Services, Innovation and Technology has appointed the first members of its Steering Group; an executive team tasked with providing leadership, clarity and direction as the Alliance begins to shape and progress its Manifesto.
The three, all-female appointments were announced on the same day as the inaugural Emerging Europe Awards, held at the headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The three – Paula Kennedy Garcia, the vice-president of EMEA markets at Convergys, Alina Pop, CEO at Electrogrup, and Elena Marinova the president of Musala Soft – bring a powerhouse of talent and leadership experience to the Alliance
“The Steering Group will play a critical role in driving the Alliance forward, ensuring we are focusing on the things that matter most for our members, the businesses they represent and the countries they operate in,” said Tom Quigley, the CEO of the Alliance. “The group will not only help us determine the broader business agenda, drive forward social improvement initiatives and showcase the very best that emerging Europe has to offer, but they will also act as ambassadors for the Alliance.”
“The fact that our first three Steering Group Members are women is indicative of the strength of female talent that exists in emerging Europe today. We are very proud to have them and we’re extremely excited about working together for the benefit of the region,” he added.
Paula Kennedy Garcia said: “It is a great honour to represent Convergys as a founding partner of the Emerging Europe Alliance for Business Services, Innovation and Technology. The CEE region brings together a rich talent pool of highly educated, multilingual resources, combined with an innovative and service orientated culture, making it an attractive BPO destination. I’m proud to be part of a group that is truly passionate about making a difference, and together we will contribute to unlocking the region’s full potential.”
“I am very honoured to be among the first members appointed in the Steering Group of the Alliance,” said Alina Pop. “At Electrogrup we help contribute to the development of a sustainable region for future generations by building the infrastructure required to enable trade, power businesses, connect workers to their jobs and create opportunities for communities. I strongly believe in the potential of the region and in the fact that the Emerging Europe Alliance can and will strengthen the region’s overall value globally.”
Elena Marinova commented: “This is a great opportunity for me personally, Musala Soft and Bulgaria to influence positive change in our region and beyond. We will grasp every opportunity to transform our businesses and society, using the unseen changes in technologies to create better, happier lives. I look forward to celebrate success together.”
