4. Annual Membership Fee 

4.1. The Annual Membership Fee amounts to £2,500 (two thousand five hundred pounds sterling) and covers your 12-month Membership; 

4.2. The Fee is paid by card during the Application process and is non-refundable unless Your Membership has not been confirmed because Your Organisation does not meet the Eligibility Criteria; 

4.3. If your membership is not approved, a full refund will be made within 30 days of the payment date; 

4.4. If, when applying, you use a discount code provided, your initial Annual Membership Fee will change to the regular amount when renewed, unless the promotion you made use of stated otherwise; 

4.5. Your Membership Fee will not be refunded if Your Membership has been terminated due to a breach of the Terms and Conditions and the Agreement. 

5. Renewal 

5.1. Upon the expiration of the Membership term of 12 months, the Membership shall automatically renew for the consecutive term of 12 months unless You terminate the Renewal by written notice no later than 30 (thirty) days before the expiration of Your Membership. If you fail to give us written notice, your membership will be renewed for the 12 consecutive months;

5.2. The Annual Membership will be automatically debited from the card provided during the Application Process. It will take place on the first day of your new membership term;

5.3. Your card details as well as other personal details that might be collected during the Application process shall be stored and dealt with according to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018;

5.4. For payments made by card, by providing us with your card details, you authorise us to store that information and then further authorise Us to charge the full amount to your card. During the membership term, we might charge £1.00 or less against your card to confirm its validity. This small charge will later be refunded;

5.5. Should we encounter an issue with getting the Annual Membership Fee, we shall contact you to resolve the issue with no delay;

5.6. You will still be required to pay the Annual Membership Fee, even if you decide to terminate the Agreement at a later stage. 

6. Terms of Use 

6.1. Your application for the Global Visibility Programme, followed by its approval, means that you enter into a legal Agreement with us and you are bound by the Agreement and the Terms of Use;

6.2. Emerging Europe reserves the right to revise and update these Terms of Use and we encourage you to revisit the Terms of Use to ensure you are up to date;

6.3. You acknowledge that an email notification sent to the email address provided by you and the publication of the update on our website are sufficient and you will not hold us liable that you missed the notification. We urge you to keep the contact information in our members’ database up to date;

6.4. If you do not agree with the updated Terms of Use, or if you breach them, your membership will be terminated immediately. 

7. Benefits 

Your Membership includes the following benefits: 

7.1. Unlimited publication of news stories about your organisation on the Emerging Europe website 

An unlimited number of news stories to get the word out about developments within your organisation, such as mergers, acquisitions, new projects, clients and initiatives. 

News stories are produced by our editorial team, based mainly on press releases that you share with us.  

7.2. Unlimited publication of expert/opinion editorials authored by your representatives on the Emerging Europe Website 

Your content will be included in Emerging Europe’s from our members section and will be available on our partner sites and in news aggregators, e.g. Google News, Apple News, Post. etc., similarly to other content published on Emerging Europe. 

Section C - Content Production Guidelines

8. General content requirements 

All the content submitted must meet the following requirements: 

8.1. News stories and expert editorials must include an angle that relates to one or multiple countries of emerging Europe; 

8.2. News stories must be about the Member organisation. If the member is a holding or owns other brands and companies, these are not considered Members of the Programme; 

8.3. Expert editorials must be authored by representatives of the Member organisation; 

8.4. Expert editorials must be produced specifically for publication at Emerging Europe and cannot be published on other websites; 

8.5. The content must not contain marketing copy nor a direct call to action as the content is purely editorial and informational in nature; 

8.6. The content must not present personal investment opportunities that might lead to financial decisions or relate to topics including adult entertainment services, illegal substances, cannabis, etc; 

8.7. Content that will not be published includes, but is not limited to: promotion of specific individuals (their achievements, activities, changes of role, etc), marketing-oriented content with a call to action; 

8.8. If the Member wishes to discuss their products or services, the content must offer an editorial angle; 

8.9. If the Member would like to propose images to be included in the published piece, they should send the images (including the source, for copyright purposes) together with the text content. The inclusion of any proposed images is subject to approval by Emerging Europe’s editorial team; 

8.10. Emerging Europe’s editorial team reserves the right to refuse to publish a news story or expert editorial. 

9. Image requirements 

9.1. If the Member wishes to suggest photos to be included in the submitted piece (news piece or expert editorial), they should submit the images via email, together with the draft text or background information; 

9.2. The photos should be pictures, not graphic illustrations. Product photos might be considered graphic illustrations; 

9.3. The images should also contain copyright information so we can verify the source and attribute it to the copyright owner; 

9.4. Emerging Europe’s editorial team reserves the right to refuse to include images suggested by the Member. 

10. Link requirements 

10.1. Do-follow links and links to external resources might be included in the expert editorials and background information to news stories; 

10.2.If the Member wishes to have links included, they should be sent within the draft editorial/background information submitted; 

10.3. Emerging Europe’s editorial team reserves the right to refuse to include links suggested by the Member.  

11. News stories guidelines 

11.1 Purpose: To inform the market about a major development in Your Organisation’s journey, such as new funding, an innovation, a project, an investment, an exit, a merger etc.  

11.2. Production: The background information —a press release or similar, and quotes from your management— should be sent to [email protected] 

11.3 Author and length: News stories are always authored by Emerging Europe’s editorial staff and are about 500 words in length.

12. Expert editorials guidelines 

12.1. Authors 

• You can choose three members of your organisation's leadership team (C-level / partner / director level) to be the authors of published expert/opinion posts on Emerging Europe; 

• Once you have selected three experts, you will not be able to change them within the 12-month membership period; 

• The experts can be reselected once your membership has been renewed; 

• You can submit as many posts as you wish throughout the membership; 

• Opinion editorials are authored by one of your three experts. They are, ideally, about 500-800 words in length. 

12.2. Purpose 

• To strengthen your top management’s thought leadership through their own views on a topic of their expertise — and build their online presence.  

12.3. Production 

• Every time you have an opinion post in mind, send your ideas for topics/angles, so we can give you feedback to [email protected]. 

• Once we agree on the direction/angle, write up the opinion post bearing in mind the guidelines provided below. 

12.4. Best practice recommendations 

• Authored by your expert, an opinion post should be relevant to Emerging Europe’s audience, either because it deals with an issue the region is facing or because it discusses a country (or countries) in the region; 

• The opinion post can also discuss a broader or a global issue, but it needs to include an emerging Europe perspective; 

• For maximum impact a good opinion post should be a piece of original writing and should be written for a general audience, free of industry-specific terms that may not be understood by all readers; 

• The piece should have a clear stance, provide factual information to support the argument and use specific examples; 

• Opinion posts should offer leadership in the form of ideas, policies or highlight challenges, explain the situation or the provenience of a phenomenon and offer potential solutions, provide unique insight the readers will not find anywhere else; 

• Good opinion posts often look at prevailing or upcoming trends in an industry from a broad perspective: not through the prism of one organisation or organisation; 

• Opinion posts should not include quotes from external parties.

Section D - Other 

13. Content Reliance Disclaimer 

13.1. The information presented by the Members through the Content on the Website is made available solely for general information purposes. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of this information. Any reliance You place on such information is strictly at Your own risk;

13.2. We disclaim all liability and responsibility arising from any reliance placed on such materials by You or general readers. We are not responsible, or liable to You or any third party, for the content or accuracy of any materials provided by any third parties. 

14. Links to Third-Part Websites in Members’ Content 

14.1. The Content submitted by You within Your Membership may contain links to third-party websites that are not owned or controlled by Us;

14.2. However, We assume no responsibility for the content, terms, and conditions, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. By using third-party links, You release Us from any and all liability arising from Your use of any third-party website.  

15. Image copyright policy 

15.1. The Images submitted by You within Your Membership are not owned or controlled by Us;

15.2. We assume no responsibility for the content, terms, and conditions, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. By using third-party images, You release Us from any and all liability arising from Your use of any third-party images. 

16. Intellectual property rights 

16.1. When submitting Your Content, You grant Us and Our licensees a perpetual worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, combine with other works, display, modify, and perform Your Member Content in connection with the Sites or otherwise as the Company determines in Our sole discretion in any medium or manner without restrictions of any kind and without payment or other consideration of any kind, or permission or notification, to You or any third party;

16.2. The above licenses granted by You in Your Member Content are perpetual and irrevocable and shall continue whether or not You are still a Member of the Global Visibility Programme.  

17. Reprinting and linking 

17.1 All content published by Emerging Europe, including Content from Our Members, regardless of platform, is owned by Emerging Europe (or, in exceptional cases, reposted with permission from other sources);

17.2. Links to Emerging Europe material are allowed provided that they contain a hyperlink to the stories and only a brief extract (not more than 10 per cent) of the original text, or use a canonical link, if reprinted in full. Reproducing our content without a written permission is prohibited. 

18. Member Code of Conduct 

18.1. Your use of the Membership in the Global Visibility Programme will comply with all terms of this Agreement and with all applicable laws and regulations. It will not be utilised for any illegal purposes or promotion or encouragement of any illegal activity, including, but not limited to, any acts of terrorism, violence against people or property. It will not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity or otherwise violate any privacy or publicity rights;

18.2. Your use of Membership and Content will contribute to promoting peace, its values and well-being, to achieving sustainable development based on balanced economic growth and a highly competitive market economy with full employment and social progress, to protecting and improving the quality of the environment, to promoting scientific and technological progress, to combating social exclusion and discrimination, to promoting social justice and protection, equality between women and men, and protection of the rights of the child, to respecting cultural and linguistic diversity. 

19. Complaints 

You have the right to complain about how your membership has been processed or handled at any time. Complaints must be made to us Emerging Europe in writing at one of the following addresses:

We will acknowledge your complaint by e-mail or in writing within seven days and will normally respond to your complaint with a final decision within 21 days. If we uphold your complaint, we will inform you of the remedial actions we have taken. 

20. Termination 

We may terminate your Membership in the Global Visibility Programme, immediately on notice, in the event You breach this Agreement by: 

• Failing to apply the production guidelines; 

• Are subject of complaints from other Members or the general public; 

• Use false and inaccurate information or derogatory language and statements in the content submitted to Us; 

• Violate any rules of professional conduct to which You are subject; 

• Become the subject of a criminal or civil investigation; 

• Fail to pay the Annual Membership Fee within 30 days after the launch of your new Membership Term (in this case, You will still be required to pay Your Annual Membership Fee).  

21. Privacy Policy

Your submission of personal information during the Application process and use by us thereof is governed by our privacy policy. 

22. Indemnity 

You agree to protect, defend, indemnify and hold Us and Our related companies and their officers, directors, members, managers, employees, agents, successors and assigns harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, costs, expenses, losses, liabilities and damages of every kind and nature (including, without limitation, reasonable outside attorneys’ fees) imposed upon or incurred and arising from Your Membership in the Global Visibility Programme.
