In a renewed sign of better relations between Moldova and Transnistria, an agreement was reached on April 24 to issue neutral number plates to cars registered in the breakaway region, allowing them to be driven internationally. Transnistrian-registered cars can currently be driven only within Transnistria and the rest of Moldova. The new rules come into force on September 1.
