Serbian president to pardon TV protesters

Serbian president Aleksander Vučić has asked authorities to accept the appeals of those arrested on minor charges during the storming at the weekend of RTS, the country’s state-run television channel.

The state-run TV building was invaded by anti-government protesters calling for Mr Vučić’s resignation.

The president also said that he will pardon all protesters detained for entering the RTS building by force.

The president, however, added that those having committed serious felonies such as carrying a chainsaw, threatening journalists and attacking police officers in front of the presidential administration building on March 17 will not be pardoned.
