Rafał Trzaskowski poland presidential election campaign poster

Poland will finally hold a presidential election this coming Sunday, June 28, having postponed the original vote, scheduled for May 10, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In our latest podcast, Andrew Wrobel speaks to Aleks Szczerbiak, professor of politics and contemporary European studies at the University of Sussex, and the author of the Polish Politics Blog, about the election and the effect that the delay has had on its outcome.

With three candidates given a chance of making the second round run off – the current president Andrzej Duda, Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski and Szymon Hołownia, an independent candidate and media personality – Andrew and Aleks look at what a victory for any of the candidates could mean for Poland’s political future.
