Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will start daily flights to Minsk from Budapest, BelarusFeed has reported.
Expectations have been high for Belarus to allow low-cost flights for some time, with negotiations taking place between Belarusian officials and low-cost carriers such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, but without any previous success.
Earlier this month, Belarusian foreign minister Vladimir Makei stressed that the government would be aiming to increase the share of tourism in the Belarusian GDP to 10-12 per cent on the long term.
