Serbian exports grew by 6.7 per cent during the first six months of 2019 compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, standing at 8.58 billion euros in the January-June period, the Serbian press has reported.
According to the office Statistical Office of Serbia (RZS), imports in the first half of the year were up 9.1 per cent year-on-year, amounting to 11.49 billion euros.
External trade rose by eight per cent to 20.7 billion euros, while the trade deficit increased by 17 per cent and now stands at 2.9 billion euros.
The export-import ratio is 74.7 per cent, down from 76.4 per cent compared with the first half of 2018.
EU countries accounted for 63.5 per cent of the external trade in total, the RZS said.
