Croatia and Bosnia to build cross-border bridge

Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have signed a contract to allocate almost 23.5 million euros for the construction of the cross-border Svilaj bridge on the Sava river.

The project will be carried out by a consortium comprising the Bosnian company Integral Inženjering and Croatian companies Đuro Đaković Montaža and Zagreb-Montaža.

“This contract is a contribution to better and closer ties between the two countries, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, neighbours and friends,” said Saša Dalipagić, Bosnia’s deputy minister of communications and transport. “With the completion of these facilities, connections will be significantly improved.”

The bridge, which will connect Svilaj in Croatia with Odzak in Bosnia, is 640 metres long and 29 metres wide, with three lanes in each direction.
