Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region looks to historic Czech links for investment

Czech entrepreneurs are looking at Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region as a potential investment destination, particularly in the field of solar panel production and renewable energy in general.

“The Czech Republic and Zakarpattia are very close historically, mentally, culturally and economically,” said the chairman of the Zakarpattia regional state administration, Ihor Bondarenko. “We intend to deepen our cooperation, especially in the economic sphere and I invite Czech businessmen to invest in the economy of our region. We can offer investments in tourism, hospitality, beverage and food production, infrastructure development.”

Automotive producer Skoda has already announced plans to produce automotive glass in the region.
