Former Polish deputy PM to stand for European parliament for Change UK

Jacek Rostowski, a former Polish minister of finance and deputy prime minister has announced that he is to stand as a candidate in the upcoming European parliamentary elections for Change UK, a party formed earlier this year by former Conservative and Labour politicians who oppose the UK’s exit from the European Union. Mr Rostowski is himself a former member of the Conservative party.

Born in the UK in 1951, Mr Rostowski served in two Polish governments at a time when Donald Tusk, currently the president of the European Council, was Polish prime minister.

Mr Rostowski is in second place on Change UK’s list in the Great London constituency.

“If I am elected I will represent all European citizens in London, firstly British, but also Poles, French, Spaniards, everyone,” said Mr Rostowski.
