Ontex Group opens Polish production facility

The Belgian Ontex Group, a manufacturer of personal hygiene products, has opened a new production facility in the Radomsko subzone of the Łódź Special Economic Zone (ŁSEZ) in central Poland.

The newly built will allow Ontex to better serve the Central and  Eastern European market.

Arkadiusz Banaszek, director of Ontex Polska, said: “So far, 16 million euros have been invested in the construction of the facility, but the entire investment will be almost 40 million euros.”

The company claims that the new plant is environmentally friendly and the that the products manufactured on the site will be marked with a green energy certificate.

“We are very proud to extend our production capacity in Poland, which is testimony to our strong commitment to the Eastern European market,” said Charles Bouaziz, Ontex’s CEO.

Mayor of Radom, Jarosław Ferenc, added that: “When Ontext completes its expansion, this will be the third largest plant in terms of the number of employees and occupied space in the Radomsko subzone.”

To date, Ontex has been serving the Polish market by importing products from the Czech Republic. However, due to the increasing demand and development of the Polish market, Ontex felt it was imperative to set up shop in Poland.

“At Ontex, we strongly believe in a local market approach, with manufacturing plants which are strategically located to allow us to respond efficiently and flexibly to consumers and customers’ needs. The new production facility in Radomsko will help us better serve our expanding retailer customer base in the region,” Mr Bouaziz explained.
