Poland’s AmRest to develop Burger King brand in CEE

AmRest, a Polish multi-brand restaurant, digital service and food group prominent in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced plans to develop the Burger King brand in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.

Burger King restaurants have been a part of AmRest’s portfolio since 2007. The company plans to leverage its strong expertise in operating under the Burger King trademarks to significantly expand scale of the chain in the region.

“Our partner is a great operator with the right combination of market expertise and experience with our brand to grow Burger King throughout this high potential region,” said David Shear, president of Burger King in EMEA.

“This agreement sets a new milestone in the implementation of the Burger King growth strategy for the region. We have a clear vision for the brand development and we are truly delighted with the opportunities for AmRest too,” said Alan Laughlin, Burger King president at AmRest.

“We strongly believe that our commitment to grow the brand will create great value for our customers and key stakeholders as well as contributing to the strengthening of AmRest’s leading position in CEE.”

AmRest currently operates 40 Burger King restaurants in Poland, 14 in the Czech Republic, 2 in Slovakia and 1 in Bulgaria. AmRest also operates a number of KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks outlets across Europe and the Middle East.
