Slovenia’s Impol seals BMW deal

Slovenian aluminium producer Impol will supply German car producer BMW with aluminium rods for the bodywork of its new electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The deal is worth 40 million euros and will run until 2024, with production expected to be launched at the end of 2020 in a new 3,000 square metre production facility to be built in Slovenska Bistrica.

The company is now seeking to obtain a building permit and plans to launch construction work in the second half of this year. Impol will also employ several dozen new workers (in production, logistics and quality control) and is hoping to further expand its cooperation with BMW.
