FDI in Bosnia stable at 2.3 per cent of GDP

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Bosnia and Herzegovina last year amounted to 2.3 per cent of the GDP, equal to that recorded in 2017.

According to the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), FDI inflows in 2018 amounted to 783.4 million Bosnian marks (400 million euros) with the highest inflows coming from Russia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Austria and Germany.

Most investments were recorded in the field of financial services (banking sector), production of coke and refined oil products, retail trade and in production of base metals.

Also, negative trends were recorded in 2018, as investments abroad decreased by 54.2 million Bosnian marks (28 million euros).
