Belarus sees 21 per cent increase in foreign workers

The number of foreign workers coming to Belarus increased by 20.7 per cent during the January-March period, BelarusFeed reports.

According to recent data provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, 4,239 people travelled to Belarus with the aim of seeking employment during this year’s first quarter, 729 more compared to the same quarter of 2018.

The highest number of foreign workers (1,159 people) arrived from Russia, closely followed by China from where 914 people were registered. While the number of both Russian and Chinese workers have increased, less Ukrainians left their country to work in Belarus.

At the same time, 2,251 Belarusians went to work abroad between January and March, increasing the number of Belarusians employed abroad to almost 93,000.
